Tournament system and rules
This tournament will be played over 3 round over the weekend of 24th January. The first two rounds will take place on the Saturday. Anyone wishing to take part should be in the golf club house no later than 10:00 am British time. There will be no prior registration for this tournament; you just have to be in the club house at the time specified. Anyone turning up after 10:10 am British time will not be able to take part unless there is a technical reason why they couldn’t get in. Depending on who reaches the final round, the final maybe played on the Saturday as well. However, if there are people from overseas and it reaches a time at which it would be considered unfair for them to take part due to the lateness of the hour, the final round will take place on Sunday at 10:30 am British time.
The tournament will follow the basic idea of survivor and the course that we will be playing will be put up one week prior to the tournament.
each match will be played between 6 players in each of the first two rounds
each player will start with 3 lives.
you lose a life if you don’t equal or better the required score on a hole. If the required score on a hole is a par, then you must score a par or better.
the 3 players with the most lives left at the end of the first two rounds will move on to the next round. In the case that 5 out of the 6 players lose all their lives in one round, the person with the life left moves on, but that player will still have to play up to the 18th.
the players that advance from the first to the second round and from the second to the final round will receive one bonus life for each round, given them a total of 2 bonus lives. You will also receive a bonus life for each hole in one you get.
in the event that more than 3 players have the same number of lives at the end of a round, the shot count for the round will be taken in to consideration. If the shot count for 3 or more players is the same then all the players will move on to the next round accept for the final in which there will be a straight match play play off starting again at hole 1 with any player falling below one or more of the other players on a hole being eliminated. This continues until only 2 people remain and then finally one of them wins a hole.
the tournament will be played over 3 rounds on the same course. In the first round you must score better than bogie, in the second round you must score better than par and in the final round birdies are required on each of the 18 holes. If you fail to achieve the required score on a hole you lose a life and once you have lost all 3 lives you are out of the tournament.
no coaching maybe given to any player in the tournament at any time by anyone whether they are playing in the game or not. If this is found to be happening the person giving the coaching and the person receiving the coaching will be disqualified from the tournament.
in the result of crashes of peoples games, we will be following the same system that is in place for the league. However, you will not be able to keep any lives that you lose prior to the crash at any point. If you lose 1 life and then your game crashes you will be able to play catch up, but you will still lose the life.
suggestions maybe made in respect of the above rules, but the tournament management has the final say.
