16) Mark and Linda from Middlesex got married, on 1st June 2007. Congratulations!
13) Former TAFN treasurer Geoff Grant sadly passed away on May 6th.

Item 14) Jim Welch featured in the Northern Echo again, this time because he has won an award from Bishop Auckland College. Click here to read the Northern Echo article, entitled "Full Marks for Adult Learners at Ceremony", from 26th May
Jim also won a NIACE North East regional award for his educational endeavours.

Item 15: Miriam Raymond was on BBC London News, on 29th May 2007. She was explaining all about Shape Tickets, a new scheme run by Shape Drama who provide easy access to the theatre for deaf, blind & disabled people.

Item 17: Gladys Taylor from Fife, Scotland who runs TAFN's online creative writing group, won a National Poetry Day competition at CreateWRT.net, following her poem about the retirement of her guide dog Maud.
