18) We are pleased to announce that The Accessible Friends Network, has won an IT4 Communities Award, for Best Accessible IT Project, November 29th 2007

17) Gladys Taylor from Scotland won a poetry competition on National Poetry Day for a poem about her retiring guide dog Maud, entitled "Dreams", 4th October 2007.

16) Mark and Linda from Middlesex got married, on 1st June 2007. Congratulations!

15) Miriam Raymond featured on BBC London television on 29th May, talking about Shape Tickets, a scheme to help with audio described theatre

14) Jim Welch made the press in the Northern Echo yet again, in May 2007 following his winning both a college and NIACE award for his educational achievements.

13) Former TAFN treasurer Geoff Grant sadly passed away on May 6th.

11) Trevor Franklin featured in The Guardian on 26th March 2007, in a special supplement called "Design with Vision", with the RNIB talking about Audio Description.

10) Early TAFN member Bill Cox featured in the Norwich Evening News, in an article "50 years with Guide Dogs"on January 24th 2007

Item 11) Trevor Franklin featured in The Guardian on 26th March 2007, in a special supplement called "Design with Vision", talking about Audio Description.

Item 13) A much loved TAFN member and our former Treasurer, Geoff Grant, sadly passed away on May 6th 2007.

Item 14) Jim Welch featured in the Northern Echo again, this time because he has won an award from Bishop Auckland College. Click here to read the Northern Echo article, entitled "Full Marks for Adult Learners at Ceremony", from 26th May

Item 15:  Miriam Raymond was on BBC London News, on 29th May 2007.   She was explaining all about Shape Tickets, a new scheme run by Shape Drama who provide easy access to the theatre for deaf, blind & disabled people.

Gladys Taylor wins National Poetry Day competition!

Item 17:  Gladys Taylor from Fife, Scotland who runs TAFN's online creative writing group, won a National Poetry Day competition at CreateWRT.net, following her poem about the retirement of her guide dog Maud.

TAFN Wins IT4 Communities "Best Accessible IT Project" Award 2007!
