Site Review: BOSE

Web Address: http://www.bose.co.uk

Brief Rating: A good site.

If you are a real hi-fi connoisseur and have a bit of money to spare, look no further than the superb quality and sound of Bose products.  spend time learning about them and purchase the smaller items online.  You will have to visit your Bose dealer to buy their more expensive systems.

Site Review: Budget Batteries

Web address:  www.budgetbatteries.co.uk

Brief Rating:  A great site for batteries!
Review by: Norman Octon

A site I use quite a lot to get my batteries from is Budget Batteries.  Most batteries are cheaper than on the high street, and there are particularly good bargains on unusual batteries such as button cells or camera batteries.  They also now sell blank disks, CDs etc.

Accessibility is just about ok; that is, when reading the product summary pages it is too easy to read the wrong price for the product you are interested in.  However, you are guaranteed the right price when you open up the "more info..." page on a product.

Delivery is free for orders of £40 or more excluding VAT.  All prices exclude VAT unfortunately.  Orders below £40 are charged by weight, which can work out quite expensive.

Site Review: Castle Classics

Brief Rating: Very Good site.
Review by: Sue Pallett

Description:  A lovely little uncluttered site, run by a friendly company in Scotland who are really keen to hear from their customers.  They will happily try to source any currently available or catalogue listed classical title for you even if it doesn’t appear on the site, and are keen to receive e-mails.You can browse A to Z through composers, or choose a genre.  There is extra information on the discs too, orchestra, performer, record label etc.   Check the boxes on the items you are interested in and send your order.  Fill in the easy payment and delivery section.  You will receive e-mail confirmation of your order. Your CD’s, SACD’s, DVD’s will arrive beautifully packaged, somewhere between 4 to 10 days after purchase.

Site Review: CD WOW

Web address: http://www.cdwow.com/

Brief Rating: A good site.

The name of this site doesn't do it justice by any means.

Not only can you shop here for cd's from all genres, but DVD's, computer games, mp3-players, computer headsets and music downloads.   You will also find WOW links to other sites which sell gifts, cosmetics and so much more.

Site Review: Denise Leigh.

Web address: http://www.deniseleigh.com

Brief Rating: A very good site.

This is the website of visually-impaired opera singer Denise Leigh.  Learn about  her and buy her signed cd's online.

She has a beautiful light soprano voice and her bubbly personality really comes over when you read all about her.

Site Review: Play dot com

Web address: www.play.com

Brief Rating: A good site.

Here is a good site for cheap CD's and DVD's which I have used.  What's even better there is No postage charge.

Site Review: Sherwoods Photo

Web Address: http://www.sherwoods-photo.com/

Brief Rating: A very good site.

This may seem a strange site to add to the Shopping Guide.  The reason why I investigated it is, that it has a very good section on radios, both with and without cassette and cd players.  This includes our old favourite, the very reliable Roberts.

There is good product information and it is easy to buy from them.
