Site Review: Additions Direct

Web Address: http://www.additionsdirect.co.uk
Brief Rating:  Quite a good site.
Review by: Sue Pallett

Description: Quite a good site.

Formerly “Argos Additions” this site has now joined forces with a number of online shopping catalogue Companies.  Print catalogue is now available from Boots stores.  Selling clothing for all the family, shoes and outerwear, some home wares, jewellery and electrical goods.  Catering mainly for, I would say, the under forties.  The home page is fairly cluttered but easily negotiable, with, to my mind,  far too many search options  to choose from, you can browse by brand, size, colour and heaven knows what else.Extra product information is sometimes a bit sketchy, leaving a lot to be desired, although using the combo boxes to choose products and adding them to your basket is straightforward. The registration and ordering is quite complicated but easy to navigate if you have the time and patience!First time ordering is lengthy, requiring confirmation of address name of bank etc.  However, a plus is that goods arrive within 2 to 4 days, an e-mail is sent back to you, confirming your order and listing those which are going to be delayed.  There is also an option to set up an account or just simply to log in using a customer number that will be sent to you to follow the progress of orders placed.Back orders can also be looked at, cross referenced with links back to the catalogue so you can go and refresh your memory on product information.  This Customer Number must be used at all times, for any enquiries or, during every future check out process, filling this in will shorten the procedure considerably on subsequent orders.  Returns are free, very efficiently dealt with, you can send them back via the post office or have them collected from your door by a courier.   In my experience, the money is credited back on to cards, punctually.  I have started to create this page in the hope that others will want to add more sites that they have found, work well, with screen reader software.

Site Review:  Fig Leaves

Web Address: www.figleaves.com

Brief Rating: A very good site.

Yes, as its name implies, this is a lingerie shopping experience for women, and dare I say it, yes, men too!The site is easy to negotiate, with good search facility and helpful links to bring up information on matching products for you.  Ordering is easy either by phone, or credit/debit card.  The Company is based in London and would welcome telephone enquiries about their products.  They have a U.S. site too! Fig leaves are extremely good at sending out follow-up emails showing your order status, telling you when your order is being processed and when it has been dispatched, listing products that have been sent out and those that are not yet in stock. You can track your orders by using a password on the site, and they will send you email newsletters about their gifts, special offers  and new products too.

Products arrive beautifully packaged and can be sent back, unworn,  using their free delivery, free returns postal service.  If there is a down-side to this website, I would say that some of the items do not have very good product description, although to be fair, I have noticed that some of the newer items do have much better listings.

Brief Rating: A good site.

Mention shoes to me and I could browse forever.  Here is a place to shop for your size from ranges by famous brand names or by certain styles, from clogs through to court shoes, sporty styles to Birkenstock and exercise sandals.  There is something here for all the family.

Brief Rating: A very good site.

Here is a site where we shoe lovers can browse, window shop and buy to our heart's delight!!  They stock a wide range of designer shoes for all the family.  Boots, trainers, casual shoes, smart footwear and much more.

Add the items to your basket and buy, knowing that you are linked to a good Company with excellent customer services and, if your products are in stock, they'll be sent out almost immediately.  Your satisfaction is guaranteed and you can return items if you are not completely satisfied.  Telephone contact information is on the site if you should need any more help and advice.
