Preparing Brussel Sprouts
Each marble-like russel has a stalk bump on one end, on the opposite end, if you rub your
fingers down from the centre you will feel the looser half circular leaves round the outside, remove and throw away one layer of these, which will expose
the stalk a little more so that it’s easier to feel.
Cut this little stalk off.
Soak the sprouts in salted water to make sure that they are clean, before boiling.
Please don’t waste your time cutting crosses in the stalk end of each sprout, it isn’t necessary, doing this will make them
cook too quickly, fall apart and go soggy!!
